Xiaomi unveiled Mi Max 2 at a launch event in Beijing earlier today and it boasts a full metal unibody with rounded edges.
As the name suggests, the Mi Max 2 does things big, packing a 6.44-inch, 1080p display and a whopping 5,300 mAh battery (with USB Type-C connectivity). The handset also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 which Xiaomi says will provide as much as 68% battery life from a one-hour charge.
Xiaomi claims that Mi Max 2 has
31 days of standby time and 57 hours of talk time. Mi Max 2 is
the successor to Mi Max phablet and will come to India in July.
The devicea has a
full metal unibody design and sports a fingerprint sensor on the back. It has
rounded edges for a better feel. Mi Max 2 includes stereo speakers — a front-facing and a bottom-facing speaker — which are said to intelligently switch from mono to stereo when the device is moved into a landscape orientation.
On the rear of the device, you’ll find a 12 MP Sony IMX386 camera sensor with 1.25μm large pixels and phase detection autofocus, as well as a circular fingerprint scanner. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, comes in at 5 MP with an 85-degree wide-angle lens.
The Mi Max 2 houses a Snapdragon 625 chipset, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage space (depending on which model you want), expandable up to another 128 GB via microSD card. As for the dimensions, the handset comes in at 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6mm. Further it includes an IR Blaster and runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with MIUI 8 on the top.
